Why Shop Local?
There are so many good reasons to shop local and we write about them all the time. We like to sum it up this way: When we spend local, we enrich our own lives and the lives of those around us. It makes our communities stronger.
A burgeoning indie economy generates more revenue for our city to properly fund our schools, crime and safety, infrastructure, homelessness, and other valuable community programs and services. It also means lower taxes for us because the city has more sources of revenue and does not need to burden us. It means we get to live in and enjoy diverse and vibrant neighborhoods that bustle with business. And, it also profoundly reduces our impact on the environment.
The return on investment is almost infinite.
